The Dunlap Maternity Session

A Return to the Farm at Spring Valley

Returning to Where It All Began

Returning to a place that already holds part of a couple’s story feels sacred in its own way.
For Heather and Davis, The Farm at Spring Valley, just outside Murfreesboro, TN, isn’t just a pretty venue—it’s where they promised forever.

And this fall, we came back—not for a wedding, but to celebrate the quiet, beautiful beginning of their next chapter: becoming parents.

A Session Full of Meaning

Maternity sessions like this one—full of purpose and rooted in a place that already holds memory—remind me why I love this work so much.

We weren’t just chasing light or finding good angles. We were walking through spaces that already mean something. That history shifted the entire feel of the session. It felt grounded, unhurried, and full of connection.

The leaves were showing off in full color, the pond was still and glowing, and the light was soft and golden over the water. At one point we joked about pulling out the canoe… and then quickly decided: maybe not this time.

Details That Carry Love

Heather wore a delicate bracelet with a small “A” and baby Alli’s birthstone beside it. It doubles as a nursing bracelet, but it felt like more than that. It was a quiet symbol of the love already growing for their daughter—one of those subtle, sacred details that speaks volumes.

These little nods to motherhood and memory are the things that always stay with me long after a session is over.

A Personal Gift

Being in small group with Heather and Davis has made this season even sweeter. Walking with them through the rhythms of everyday life, and now watching them step into parenthood—it’s something I’m genuinely thankful for.

They’re steady, kind, and already such a great team. And more than anything, their love for the Lord shows up in how they love each other and the people around them.

A Gracious Space

The owners of The Farm at Spring Valley are some of the kindest people you’ll meet. Their hospitality, care for couples, and willingness to let stories continue here makes it a place that’s more than just scenic—it’s sacred.

They made it so easy for us to be there again, and the evening honestly flew by.

Before Baby Alli Arrives

This little girl is already so loved. And getting to document the final weeks before Heather and Davis become parents—right where their story began—felt like a full-circle moment in the best possible way.

They’re ready. And baby Alli is entering a home already filled with so much love.
