PHOTOGRAPHY

Ashley, Bradley, and their daughter Aubrey showed up with the kind of warmth that makes you feel like you’ve known them forever. It didn’t take long before we were swapping stories, laughing between shots, and settling into that comfortable rhythm that makes a session feel effortless. Sessions like this are why I’m so grateful to serve families as a Columbia TN photographer.
Early on, we realized something pretty fun—Bradley’s first name is actually Adam, which means they’re another Adam & Ashley couple… just like us! My husband Adam came along to help with behind-the-scenes video (which I cannot wait to share), and he and Bradley instantly bonded over all the classic guy conversations while we got started.
We kicked things off in Downtown Columbia, TN, wandering around the square and soaking in all the charm. As a Columbia TN photographer, capturing families in the heart of downtown makes each session truly memorable. Of course, we had to stop by the huge Christmas tree that goes up every year—no one really knows how tall it is, but it’s massive. And that big-tree photo? A total must. It added the perfect festive touch to the beginning of their gallery.
Then we headed over to The Yard at Row & Co., which gave us something completely different—soft greens, open space, and a peaceful backdrop that made everything feel grounded and calm. Their gallery now has this beautiful mix of lively downtown energy and cozy, tree-farm simplicity—and it fits them so well.
While we were at The Yard, we took a few minutes to grab updated headshots for both Ashley and Bradley. As a Columbia TN photographer, I always encourage families to sneak in a couple—whether it’s for LinkedIn, small business bios, or just having a fresh photo, it’s one of the easiest ways to make a session work double.
The couple portraits? Truly some of my favorites ever. There’s such ease and affection between them, and those frames ended up being some of my personal favorites to date.
They brought two looks—one a little dressy, one casual—and the switch worked so well with the location change. If you’ve ever wondered whether an outfit change works in an hour-long session… it absolutely does.
It kept the gallery feeling full and varied without adding stress or time.
And then there’s sweet Aubrey. She was pure delight—curious, joyful, and full of personality in every single frame. Her little bow-back dress was the cutest detail, but what stood out more was the way this family moves together—with laughter, gentleness, and such natural connection. That’s what made the session feel like them. And it’s why I’m so grateful to do this work as a Columbia TN photographer.
That’s what made the session feel like them.
After we finished shooting, we popped into Bradley Mountain Coffee to warm up. The coffee was perfect, the space was beautiful, and it’s one of my favorite local spots—especially if you need holiday gifts for the guys in your life.
It was a chilly morning, but you’d never know it from the photos. The light showed up. Their connection showed up. And we left feeling like old friends.
If you’re dreaming of family photos that feel natural, meaningful, and full of the good stuff—connection, laughter, and the in-between moments—I’d love to help you create that. Above all, choosing a Columbia TN photographer ensures your story is captured authentically.
Whether you love a charming downtown spot, a peaceful tree farm, or something completely your own, we can plan a session that reflects your story.
