PHOTOGRAPHY

Not too long ago, I was photographing Olyvia and Nick as they waited to meet their baby girl. This time, I got to photograph them at home with Ila finally in their arms.
Ila was wide awake and taking everything in for part of our session, and then eventually got sleepy enough for some of those sweet, snuggly newborn photos. It was so fun getting to capture a little bit of both sides of her personality at this tiny stage.
One of the things I loved most about this session was getting to photograph them in their own home. There’s something about newborn photos in the space where you’re actually spending these first days together that makes them feel even more personal. No rushing around or needing anything elaborate — just being home together with their new baby girl.
And you can already see just how loved Ila is.
Some of my favorite photos are the simplest ones — Ila curled up against her mom and dad, wrapping her tiny fingers around theirs, snuggling into their arms, and the three of them together as a new family of three. Those little details may seem so normal right now, but they’re also the things that change before you even realize it.
When I photographed Olyvia and Nick for their maternity session, there was so much excitement as they waited to meet their baby girl. Now she’s here, and it was so sweet getting to see them loving on the little girl they had been waiting for.
I hope these photos always bring them back to the simple little moments of these newborn days — how tiny Ila was in their arms, the way she held onto their fingers, all the newborn snuggles, and what it felt like to finally have her home.
Olyvia and Nick, thank you for letting me document another part of your story. I loved getting to meet sweet Ila and photograph this new season for your family! If you’re looking for a Murfreesboro newborn photographer and love the idea of having your newborn photos taken in the comfort of your own home, I’d love to document these first days for your family, too.
